Dressing up your lawn with a fountain adds an elegant focal point. The challenge here was an old round flower bed in deplorable shape. I started by replacing the broken concrete retaining bricks and cleaning off the existing ones.
It was necessary to re-lay parts of the bed to make it more attractive and secure. I removed the old dirt, and while it was gone, I installed the fountain’s water mechanism.
Since there had not been a fountain there before, I had to run a small waterline underground to supply water. It’s deep enough underground to be safe from freezing in winter. The fountain can be easily drained to protect it, too.
The finishing touches were the flower plantings and solar-powered spotlights, which spotlight the fountain without the necessity of running electric lines.
